Melbourne lost the lead late in the game against Moorabbin on Sunday, going down 10-7.

Holding onto a 6-0 lead into the eighth inning it all changed with an incoming shower – giving up 10 runs in the eighth. Despite the loss, the Demons did collect 10 hits in the high scoring affair, with 3 homes runs, 2 to Sayers and one to McMahon.

Kurtis Smith returned to form with a great outing – 7IP, giving up five hits, zero runs, striking out four in the process. The bullpen could not match his effort however and one poor defensive innings which was the difference in the game.  The Demons had dominated throughout, but the eighth innings turnaround was punctuated by six hits, 2 errors, and 4 walks surrendering the lead and the game to the Panthers.

Sayers and McMahon had multiple hits for the Demons, Sayers went 3-5 at the plate, McMahon 2, singles to Daniels, Neave, Pickett, Scalzo, and Fittock.

The Demons will look to get back on the winners list at Sunshine Saturday.
